Fix it Friday!

When your car exhaust is so loud and you can’t turn the music up any louder, you should probably spare the neighborhood and your fuel economy and confront the issue. I just had a feeling it was going to be very costly, so I broke down and started asking around if anyone knew anyone who could diagnose the problem, my friend Joe Bob reminded me we have a mutual friend who might be able to help with this one, “Little Eric” Jensen! Thankfully he is a master of his craft working daily as a mechanic on high end sports cars, I brought it to him, he pointed out the leak, helped me order an after-market version of the section of exhaust that was leaking and boom! Less than one week later the part came in and voila!

The culprit: air leaking out of the sides of the resonator
So he cut out the problem area section:

Sprayed some sealant on some new gaskets in between each section and fit the new piece perfectly in the old ones place.

It sounds like a completely different car in a REALLY good way, it sounds like a normal car!! Woo!!! Finally!!! Let the neighborhood rejoice in silence! Thank you Eric!

Speaking of talented friends, back in February I shipped my Harley gas tank and fender to “Kona Joe” or Joe Koenigsmark owner of Angel Dust Cycle Paint in Cleveland, OH. I used to ride bikes with him and his two sons and work with him at Ray’s Indoor Mtn Bike park on the weekends (you can still find him there on sundays). I’ve seen him paint hot rods, helmets, road bikes, ramps, murals, bathroom walls hahaha you name it he’s probably painted it. But his custom paint jobs are beautiful! I shipped him my tins and told him to “have fun with it” and holy wow they turned out amazing!!!!

This is what the bike looked like with loaner tank and a fender I picked up from Bud’s here in Austin. My good friend Matt “Wally” came over and helped swap them out.
Just wow!

“Burrito and the Lightningbolt” by Benedict Campbell and Autumn Spadaro

This really awesome film maker/photographer Benedict Campbell and his assistant Autumn Spadaro put together a lovely short film about my friend Dani (aka Danilightningbolt) and I (aka Nina Burrito).
What a super cool experience this was, after watching it, I felt so excited and grateful for everything in life, the choices I’ve made, and the people I have met, all connected in some way from two wheels bicycles or motorcycles. This film helped me to remember how I got here, and to slow down and appreciate all that we have here in Austin. 💙  what a great job Ben and Autumn, thank you! Please feel free to share this work of art.
